I recently deployed two new site servers; I have about forty site servers in total to replace. Resaon of replacements are:
1. Old hardware; going from HP Proliant 380 g3 (Server 2003) to Dell Poweredge Rack 7810 (Windows 7 x64)
2. OS; going from Server 2003 to Windows 7x64
Our setup; we have HQ with the SMP and two separate site servers. They are working fine. We also have forty branch offices each with their own site server.
When we were using 7.5, server 2003 was supported and the branch clients all reported to their local site server. Now we are on 7.6 and immediatly our branch clients had to report to HQ instead of their local site servers because 7.6 dropped support with Task Services and Server 2003. Now I am starting to setup our new hardware with Windows 7x64 and the IIS stuff that is required for proper setup of a Site Server. I put two of them in place, but the two branches that received the new servers are not having their clients report to the new local site server. They are reporting to any of our two servers in HQ instead.
I am new to this part of Altiris, our Administrator left our Organization. So I have picked up some of the slack. I feel like I did something incorrect or I missed something in particular for setting up new site servers. Anyone have good documentation and/or know how on correctly setting these up so the two braches have their clients report to their local site server?
