AD Import, filter creation uses distinguished name?

Implementing 7.6 and noticed the naming convention of the created filters is the full distinguished name of the OU (ie. OU=Something,OU=SomethingsParent,DC=Forrest) versus the normal Container/Dept. Is that normal?

I noticed it has the option for Global Catalog set, went in unselected it and tried the full import again. No change. Deleted a couple filters, performed full import, got the same thing again.
