Workflow Server Install Location

Just trying to figure out the best configuration for our environement. I found a discussion on here that states the Workflow Server can be installed on the SMP server, however, the documentation recommends that it be installed on its own dedicated server. Ideally I'd want to install it on the SMP server as we are very small (less than 300 computers) and don't really have the resources to build a server JUST to run the Workflow Server.
