Software Catalog

so i dont use it and have never. I am trying to figure out what the benefits are. I can tell you the initial stop...

tried setting up the catalog location with a DNS alias and no go. takes server name but not a dns alias...

so normally in software i will import in from a folder on the local NS and never use the software library but tryin to understand why i want to use it...
