Last Logged In User, Altiris

What is the definiton of Last Logged In User field for Altiris 6.5?

I need to determine the difference between this field and the Primary User assigned to a specific machine. Does anyone have anymore information on how this field is determined exactly? How can there be blanks in the Last Logged In User, if the machine has a Primary User assigned to it?
