I'm new to Symantec/Altiris. I've recently have been given responsibility to the group that installs, implements, maintains and manages it. Last Fall, we purchased the SymEd Advanced Bundle. The bundle consists of the following SymEd Solution Packages: Protection Suite Enterprise Edition, Mobile Management, Client Management Suite and Workspace Streaming. I believe that we only have implemented the Client Management Suite. I believe that it may only be partially implemented at this time. I need to get up to snuff on it ASAP. I'm looking for any online resources to help me in this endevour.
One of my first projects is to determine the number of Windows XP machines remaining, their hardware configuration, their location, etc. I've hunted and pecked around on the Symantec Management Console and was able to determine the Operating systems and Hardware manufacturers Summary which gives me the number of computers in each catagory. Now, I need to be able to extract the information into a spreadsheet that include the computer's IP address, etc. From the IP address, I can determine the building that it is housed.
Any information, hints or suggestions that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
