Any way to send an automation policy email with an attachment?

I have some automation policies that are running reports and sending the results to groups in an email, currently sending results as html.  Some of the reports requested are pretty long and have been asked if they can be sent as an excel document or something attached.  Using the results as CSV seems like it should do this but it doens't it just garbles everything together in the body of the email.  Is there any specific task I should be choosing that would allow me to send the results of the report as a csv attachment?
