File transfer of large files

We have course content that we manually transfer to over 1200 locations.  I need to automate this process and we were going to look at Altiris as a possible solution but we do have a few questions since I am not familiar with the Altiris Suite:

• What application is used to transfer files on a schedule?
• Does the application use something similar to BITS?
• If you are using the application today, what is the success rate?
